Birth Doulas
Research shows that birth givers who have the support of a birth doula are:
-
less likely to need Pitocin
-
less likely to have a cesarean birth
-
less likely to use any pain medication
-
more likely to rate their childbirth experience positively
Birth doula provide information and emotional support leading up to birth, physical/emotional support and advocacy during and immediately after labor, and follow up to help connect with resources post birth.
